Name partners Michael Heygood, Jim Orr, and Eric Pearson of the law firm Heygood, Orr & Pearson have been named as “Texas Super Lawyers” for the year 2012 by Texas Monthly Magazine. These awards mark the ninth straight year that a name partner at the firm has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer by the magazine, and the fourth time in five years that all three name partners were selected.

Heygood, Orr & Pearson represents individuals and corporate clients in a wide area of litigation, including pharmaceutical mass torts, class action lawsuits, commercial litigation, bad faith insurance litigation, intellectual property lawsuits, commercial litigation, qui tam litigation and personal injury lawsuits.

The 2012 Texas Super Lawyers award adds to a growing list of awards and recognitions given to the lawyers at Heygood, Orr & Pearson. All three name partners at the firm are AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest legal rating available. In addition, partner Eric Pearson was named as one of Dallas’ “Best Lawyers Under 40” and one of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” by D Magazine.

Super Lawyers chooses attorneys through a multistep process that combines peer review, evaluations, and independent research. With less that 5% of attorneys in the state of Texas chosen for recognition, the Super Lawyers selection process helps to provide a reliable and authoritative resource for other attorneys, as well as clients seeking legal representation.

The legitimacy of the Super Lawyers selection process has been upheld by courts and bar associations across the country. According to a Special Master appointed to review the award by the New Jersey Supreme Court, the Super Lawyers process “is a comprehensive, good-faith and detailed attempt to produce a list of lawyers that have attained high peer recognition, meet ethical standards, and have demonstrated some degree of achievement in their field.”
