To identify the best lawyers in Dallas, D Magazine asked all Texas-based attorneys to identify those of their peers practicing in Dallas who they would rank as the best in their respective fields. D Magazine then recognized those receiving the most support from their colleagues in their June 2011 issue. Mr. Pearson was honored as one of only forty “Best Lawyers in Dallas” in the field of personal injury law.
Mr. Pearson was previously recognized by D Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers under 40 in Dallas and has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine for eight straight years.
Mr. Pearson has had several recent trial victories including a $1.0 million jury verdict in a case involving a young girl hit and killed by a pickup truck while crossing an apartment parking lot.
Other highlights include Mr. Pearson’s recent appearance before the Illinois Court of Appeals in a case involving the Duragesic© fentanyl patch. In the 2008 trial of that case, Heygood, Orr & Pearson lawyers successfully argued that the drug companies had defectively manufactured a leaking fentanyl patch that caused the death of a 35-year old woman. At the recent appellate court hearing, Mr. Pearson argued that the jury’s $16.5 million dollar verdict against the fentanyl patch makers was appropriate and should be upheld. A decision is expected later this year.
