Maxi-Matic pressure cookers linked to serious injuries

Pressure cookers sold by Maxi-Matic have been linked to cases of severe burns and other injuries caused by the accidental explosion of these devices. Consumers who have been injured in an explosion involving a pressure cooker sold by Maxi-Matic may qualify to file a lawsuit and seek compensation for their injuries.

Maxi-Matic’s pressure cookers are sold under the brand names Elite Bistro and Elite Platinum. These products are available in a number of sizes, including 6 quart, 8 quart, and 10 quart models. The cookers are sold in a number of department stores and online retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Sears, Target, Walmart, and Wayfair.

Lawsuits filed against Maxi-Matic have alleged that the company’s Elite Bistro and Elite Platinum pressure cookers are defectively designed, putting consumers at risk of injuries caused by accidental explosions. According to these lawsuits, the lid on the pressure cookers is designed to close the wrong way, causing the machines to pressurize during cooking without the lids being fully closed. As a result, the products can accidentally explode during cooking, which may cause severe burns or other injuries.

Product liability lawsuits filed against Maxi-Matic have alleged that the company has known about the manufacturing defects in the affected pressure cooker models for years, but has failed to take adequate steps to reduce the risk of accidental explosions or injuries to consumers. Despite online reports of problems with the machines and numerous lawsuits filed on behalf of injured consumers, recent lawsuits allege that Maxi-Matic has still failed to address the manufacturing defects that make Elite Bistro and Elite Platinum pressure cookers prone to accidental explosions.

The U.S. Product Safety Commission has also received numerous reports of burn injuries involving Maxi-Matic Pressure Cookers. However, in spite of the numerous injury reports linked to the company’s Elite Bistro and Elite Platinum cookers, Maxi-Matic has announced no plans to recall these products.
